Established on the 5th December 1981 as a joint stock company in the co-operative sector, Al Ain Cooperative Society is the first of its kind established in Al Ain, the Green City of United Arab Emirates. It started its core business activities of retailing on 1st April 1982 and very sooner the residents of Al Ain witnessed a retailing revolution in their neighborhood with branches of “Al Ain Coop” stretching its hands over the length and breadth of the city limits and outskirts.
The growth of Al Ain Coop was very consistent, we have penetrated throughout the Al Ain marketplace and currently operating 25 retail venues and soon to open 3 new outlets, we are the largest chain of retail stores in Al Ain & the market leaders in the grocery sector for over 35 years, serving over 6 million customers every year. Our annual turnover is over AED 500,000,000 during the fiscal year 2015 and we are maintaining a very healthy growth rate year on year.
Believing in the “Build & Operate” retail strategy, Al Ain Cooperative Society has different store formats, each tailored to the customer’s needs in a particular locality and offer customers great value, quality, fresh produce and in-store bakery items close to where they live. Our goal is to be the first choice retailer for customers locally and by being best at fresh, offering the best promotional deals, the best in-store availability and the best customer service. We are following indigenously developed MIS System, product sourcing system and Warehousing & Logistic system, which is continuously reviewed and enhanced. Our Warehouse is with 250,000 sq ft area capable of catering the increasing requirements of our expanding network of branches. We have a designated whole sale sourcing division catering only to the needs of Government Departments, Palaces, Hotels and other Private Organizations.
